| Headquartered
in New York City for over 90 years, we have developed textile
products with a dual emphasis on creativity and high quality.
The company has been family owned and operated since the six
founding Marcus brothers formed it in 1911. It was their desire
to provide quality, distinctive and well-crafted fabrics. Their
attention to detail continues today, as Marcus products can now
be found in quilt and fabric shops worldwide. Marcus Brothers
has enjoyed a well-earned reputation in the industry by
maintaining its creative goals and high standards of quality and
service. In Fall 2007, the company name of Marcus Brothers
became Marcus Fabrics, reflecting the company's evolution as a
leading source for both trendy and traditional fabrics.
Our state-of-the-art design studios continuously create
distinctive collections that mirror the diversity and
technological advancements in the ever-changing world of fabric
design. Marcus' own studio designs are offered alongside
collections by award-winning design leaders like Judie
Rothermel, who celebrates 20 years in the industry in 2007.
Marcus Fabrics is especially proud and excited about its
recent collaborations with museums, to not only bring beautiful
reproduction fabrics to the discerning quilter, but to also
support the work of these museums in the area of quilt and
textile preservation. By providing promotional avenues as well
as financial support for such organizations as Old Sturbridge
Village and New England Quilt Museum, Marcus Fabrics furthers
its mission to preserve the traditions of quilting over the
centuries.
For decades, Marcus fabrics have remained the fabrics of
choice for the creative consumer. In an environment where every
theme, pattern, texture and color becomes a creative statement,
enthusiasts choose Marcus fabrics as the centerpiece of their
crafts, quilts, wearable art, apparel and home decor.
"Nothing is more rewarding and creative as sewing and
quilting," says company president Martin Marcus.
"These works are a unique part of American tradition. It is
thrilling to see quilts, pieced years ago from Marcus fabrics,
being passed down from generation to generation. It is a source
of pride for the Marcus family to be a part of the family
histories of so many loyal quilting and crafting friends." |
